Trailer for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

Check out the first trailer for ‪The Amazing Spider-Man.

I saw this in 3D last night before Captain America and got super excited.  The first person shots were excellent eye candy in 3D (and a direct homage to Mirror’s Edge which I enjoyed).

I sure do love me some Spider-Man!

Huge Lego Model Highlights

Here’s some recent amazing (and huge) Lego models that I’ve been impressed with:

Rapture (the underwater city from BioShock)
Star Dreadnought Executor (from Return of the Jedi)
Barad-dûr (from The Lord of the Rings movies)

Be sure to check out the detail pictures for each model too!

‘Moneyball’ Trailer

Moneyball looks fun based on this trailer. Great casting. I’m not normally a fan of ‘based on a true story’ or sports movies but I’m looking forward to this one.

Great Things Collide: Portal 2 & The National

The National is a great band. Portal 2 is a great computer game. The former did a great song for the latter called Exile Vilify (7.6 MB MP3) but sadly it only gets played from a tinny radio in the game. You could easily miss it while playing the game (or maybe you’re one of those weird people who doesn’t play great games).

Valve means to fix the low billing of the song in the game with the Portal 2 Music Video Contest.

I don’t know how to fix the problem of not enough people playing amazing games that represent some of the most creative work I’ve seen in years.

In any case, the point of this post was that it’s awesome when things you love come together.

Mayor Bloomberg Calls Immigration Reform and Marriage Equality

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been pushing for immigration reform and marriage equality in some recent speeches. It’s great to see a Republican leader supporting these hugely important reforms.

Can we see more of this from the Republican party nationally instead of so much fear-mongering and tea-party nonsense?
