Shuffle in Color

The iPod shuffle, now in colors. Pink, green, blue, orange, and the original silver. All the same price and size: $79, 1 GB.

I like the new colors but they are a bit garish. Also it’s interesting to see Apple’s first metallic orange iPod and first orange product since the Tangerine iMacs and iBooks.

Merry Christmas!

Maybe Steve-ness is better.

I love Apple, they give me such good shit.

Ho ho ho, iTunes 7 for all!

Apple Media Event: ‘It’s Showtime’

Exciting stuff. I wish I still was working for them. Rumored new iPods, iMacs, Mac Book Pros, an iTunes movie service, maybe even a ‘One More Thing’ mystery device (which WWDC was sorely lacking)?

New Apple Ads

Three new ‘Get a Mac’ ads and a new iTunes + iPod comercial with Bob Dylan. Sweet stuff.

iPod Videos on Blu-Ray Discs?

This is a largely unsubstantiated rumor (to the point where I would call it speculation, though well informed). Anyway, according to this article on iPod Hub, “Apple has been asking studios to include iPod video content on Blu-ray discs.” I’d have to say that would pretty much decide my next-gen format of choice.

Something like this could really be the decisive victory in the format war (once you realize that iPod owners are generally on the cutting edge of most electronics) and, assuming the other issues with copy protection are worked out, I’d be completely behind Blu-Ray (whereas now I’m undecided). It should be an interesting battle over the next few years.
