Bush Breaks Promise & Fucks Teens

The bill that Bush just signed into law that is supposed to reduce taxes by $69 billion including big cuts for the rich. As reported in this article, there’s only one group that it increases taxes to: teenagers:

Under the new law, teenagers age 14 to 17 with investment income will now be taxed at the same rate as their parents, not at their own rates. Long-term capital gains and dividends that had been taxed at 5 percent will now be taxed at 15 percent. Interest that had been taxed at 10 percent will now be taxed at as much as 35 percent.

The increases, which are retroactive to the first day of the year, are expected to generate nearly $2.2 billion over 10 years…

I realized a long time ago that politicians are making the youth pay for their pork and tax cuts. This is just one of many examples of that kind of irresponsible lawmaking. What’s particularly interesting is that back in 1999, Bush pledged to veto any bill that raised taxes. I guess he wasn’t making that pledge to anyone under 11 or so…

So I really have to thank you Mr. President, you lying fuck, for continuing to line the pockets of your rich cronies with money from the less fortunate. Lucky for you, you picked the best group: kids who can’t vote. It’s not so bad though, since those kids probably don’t need that money for anything important like college tuition. That money is in much better hands with the nation’s rich so they can do more whatever the fuck they spend all that money on (whatever it is though, it’s not working to help the economy).
